Discovering the wonders of a cleansing stick earlier this year completely changed my travel skin-care game, but apparently, I’m 3000 years late. For years, people have been living for the Su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick, which was one of the first of its kind to garner fans in America. Beauty brands like Tarte, Urban Decay, and Milk Makeup have since created their own iterations. (You can check out a whole list of them here.) However, the love for Su:m37’s rosy offering is evergrowing.
A Redditor who goes by printscreene shared on the Asian Beauty subreddit that she recently went to restock her beloved cleansing stick, only to find that all the usual stores she shops it out are out of stock. The only place she could find it was from a seller on Amazon listing it for more than $130. (That’s insane!) She didn’t share the exact retailers she usually shops the stick, but you can typically find it on Soko Glam (Charlotte Cho is a huge fan), iHerb, and Ohlolly.
Unsure if it was discontinued, printscreene asked for more info and alternatives for the popular cleansing stick. Someone noted that its lack of availability might be a seasonal occurrence based on one of the product’s star ingredients. It’s not only rose-scented, but it’s also flecked with real rose petals that gently exfoliate the skin. “This happened last year, too, I believe — something about having trouble sourcing the roses they use in the cleanser? That could be the issue again,” gothickornchic replied to the thread. Apparently, this is an ongoing problem, as Refinery29 reported back in 2015. (Yup, the hype over this cleansing stick is yet to die down. It’s like the cronut of K-beauty.)
Another shared that it’s even sold out in Seoul and Busan, major cities in South Korea. Jade109 wrote that she “had to but it when [she] came back to the states.” However, you can still find it on pinkseoul.com.
Other than that, a couple alternatives exist that printscreene’s fellow Redditors offered up.
Instead of roses, Neogen’s cleansing stick is infused with green tea leaves. It’s my personal fave because it easily removes makeup with its creamy lather.
Belief’s popular cleansing stick is all about calming chamomile, which helps soothe redness and smooth skin.
